Bugs!
Thanks to Karmen, I recently purchased a Centennial Lily not only to support/celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the University of Saskatchewan but because I'm a huge sucker for lilies. This hardy Asiatic lily should be well suited to prairie winters (I hope at least!). So I'm carefully watering and sunning my tiny little plant which is about 1-inch or so high and next thing you know I've got bugs. BUGS!!! Stupid little aphid-like thingies! There's nothing like minding your own business watching tv or something and to have something fly by within nanometres of your face. Next thing you know you're swatting at air and looking like an idiot. So now I'm madly trying to kill the stupid things before they hatch. Well, at least I should have some really pretty flowers when it blooms!! :)

Sometimes technology sucks ...
I hate my printer! What was once my pride and joy is now seen as a piece of crap. Last night as I printed out my paper for class today for the third freakin' time, it started to clunk and whir like a jet engine powering up. Not good. Not only did it begin to produce all these weird sounds, it promptly decided to run out of ink. Of course, I didn't have an extra cartridge on me. Where in the hell am I going to find more ink at 11 at night?! AHHH!! So my paper looks like shit, but at least it's readable. What the hell. Ugh, I think it's going to be one of those weeks. Looks like it's time to bite the bullet and go to Staples to find a new one - only this time it'll be a better one!

Spring has sprung
Not only does it feel like it's on the plus side of zero today, but I'm going to take a giant leap and pronounce that spring is on the way. Why do I say this you ask? Well, spring is a time of new births! And if you squint hard enough you can pretend that there's green grass under the snow.
I'm pleased to announce the birth of my first niece:
Annika Madeleine
this past Friday! Congrats to her parents, Cathy and Ken and her big brother Mikey!!
On top of that, one of my best and oldest friends is also expecting her first child within the next month! I am anxiously anticipating this birth. Katrina and I go back to Grade 3, and nothing makes you feel old and behind like all your friends having babies. I bet money that it's going to be a boy though!
So if my thesis never gets finished, it's because I'm far too busy cross-stitching birth registers and shopping for baby clothes and toys. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Everyone's Doing It!
Woohoo! No longer am I the only one who is easily bullied/suckered! Cara has also succumbed to the blogging bandwagon!
On another note, I finished off my paper and all my articles for tomorrow and it's only 2 in the afternoon. What will I do with all my free time now?! Oh yeah, work on all the other papers that are due. It never ends ...

First Post
Well, against my better judgement, I've succumbed to the blogging bandwagon. I blame it on all the people I see on a daily basis - they've all started their own blogs. I guess this means I should too. So much for my days of anonymously reading and posting comments, now I have to come up with something insightful to write on a regular basis (I'm not promising anything though). Here you'll fine oddities, the odd insightful comment, and probably a lot of ranting. Thanks for reading!
